About Natalie
An Austinite since 1991, Natalie has a background in the performing and visual arts, a degree in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin, and even took a short dip in the pool of film and video production. After a span of several years in various corporate jobs that left her stressed-out, unfulfilled, and ultimately-- downsized, scared and miserable, Natalie took a breather to reassess and listen to her inner voice. It was then that she finally found herself called to the field of massage therapy in 1999. She is a graduate of Semesters One and Two from The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in Austin, TX. Though trained in many modalities, her specialties are deep massage, pain management, and athletic massage programs. She is also certified as an Infant Massage Instructor through the International Institute of Infant Massage, and has undergone 1000 hours of doula and prenatal massage training. She holds black belts in Taekwondo and Tai Chi, speaks French and German (though admittedly she is rusty in both), enjoys really good coffee, adores her pets, and has a few triathlons under her belt. She is currently training to become a certified Tai Chi instructor through the National Black Sash Association under Grand Master Thomas Gohring. Through her career, she has been thrilled to work with clients from a wide array of backgrounds, including Olympic and NCAA athletes. An artist at heart, Natalie uses her imagination and creativity to help clients achieve their bodywork goals. She thrives on ever-sharpening her knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology. She continuously hones her palpation and technical skills. She is committed to client education. In addition, she incorporates the professionalism, outside-the-box thinking, and excellent communication skills she perfected in her time in the corporate world to create a hands-on healing environment that is backed up by outstanding customer service. Plus, she genuinely cares about the well-being of everyone with whom she works. Natalie's mission is to make therapeutic massage and bodywork accessible and approachable to as many people as possible. She is always open to questions, believes there are no "stupid questions" and will always stay within her scope of practice. If there is something she doesn't know, she will say so, and will do her best to refer to a more appropriate provider in those instances. Come get to know Natalie and her work, and become a member of one of the most loyal client bases around! |
